This year’s WA Budget delivers stability for business owners. While there are no new grants or tax breaks, there are still a few key changes that could affect cash flow and operational planning.
Power Credit for Business
From 1 July 2025, approximately one million WA small businesses will receive a $150 power bill credit, funded by the Commonwealth Government.
- Issued in two instalments of $75, automatically for Synergy and Horizon Power customers.
- Businesses using embedded networks or non-standard arrangements must apply through RevenueWA.
- This replaces the State Government’s former $400 rebate, which has now ended.
No New Tax or Grant Changes
The Budget includes no changes to land tax, payroll tax, or transfer duty, and no new SME-focused grants. However, the State continues investing in workforce and energy sector infrastructure, which may indirectly benefit certain industries.
Related Cost Measures to Note
- Continued TAFE investment and wage subsidies to support apprenticeships, particularly in construction.
- Battery installation rebates and no-interest loans are available for qualifying households, which may be of interest for business owners running their business from home.
